Going off to college means a fresh start – moving to a new town, finding a new group of friends and encountering exciting, new opportunities. At Rutgers, we encourage you to consider joining a fraternity or sorority. Rutgers’ first fraternity opened its doors to students in 1845 and since that time the fraternity and sorority community has offered a unique opportunity to help you develop into the person you want to be.
On the New Brunswick campus you’ll find over 70 fraternities and sororities. As a member, you will create lifelong friendships, strengthen academic skills in a small group, grow through leadership and service in a community with shared values, make valuable connections to the larger fraternity and sorority community and the University, and lastly, have fun!
